An Afghan family in Hamburg is collecting almost €7,000 in citizen's income – even though the head of the family works at a supermarket and doesn't speak German, as NIUS research on the ground reveals. Particularly piquant: €5,100 of this sum goes to the municipal landlord of an asylum accommodation. The absurdity of the current citizen's income system is evident in Hamburg. NIUS reporters Jan A. Karon and BjΓΆrn Harms were on site.
